    • Camie,

There is not at this time a way to print or export. The reasoning behind this, is because the application acts as more of an inventory application. If you were to print/export your list, you would still be required to enter this data back into the application, in order to keep the “inventory” levels accurate.

      Thanks,
      Ben

  1. Hi, I love this app. Have been looking for something like this for ages!! My concern is that I’m about to upgrade my phone and was wondering when you will be offering backups to iCloud or similar? I’ve put a heap of work into getting my inventory perfect and would be devastating to lose it all.
    Thanks heaps.

    • I am working on it and want to have something soon. I was actually thinking about using Dropbox for syncing capabilities. Is that something that might work for you?

Of course if you backup your phone to iCloud or the computer, and restore this backup to your new device, no data should be lost from Pantry Partner or any other app.

Glad you are enjoying the app, I have some ios 7 changes coming very soon.

Please don’t hesitate to ask any more questions. I love to here how people are using the app.

  2. Hi. I understand there are some updates and changes coming. Can you say how soon? I am waiting for those updates/ changes to purchase this app. I want to see what they are first.

    • Melanie,

Unfortunately barcode scanning did not make the cut for this release. The issue with barcode scanning is it tends to be more specific than people truly want for a shopping list. For example a barcode represents a very specific product not something generic like milk. With that being said, I am working on adding this feature, it just requires a different attitude towards barcode a than people traditionally think. For example, one product, such as milk may have numerous barcodes as opposed to a one-to-one relationship, as they are traditionally thought of. There is a ad-supported version that has been submitted to the App Store and you could try that one and see if the application makes sense to you before you buy the full version.

      Thanks,
      Ben

  3. Just tried out your app and it looks pretty good. The only thing missing, in my opinion, is that when I click on “shop” I only get the items. I would like to see the item and qty needed. This should update the inventory level.

    • Jack,

It version 1.0 I did have the quantity listed but somehow I forgot to include that when I rewrote the application for iOS 7. It is a feature I plan to add back in.

      Thanks,

      Ben

    • Jack,

I just wanted to let you know that a new version has been submitted to the App Store that restores this feature. Again, sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

      Thanks,
      Ben

  4. How do you transfer data from the free version to the pay version?
The free version clearly says “Tired of ads? Click the button above and you will have the chance to purchase the ad free version. Don’t worry about your data, it can all be transfered once the ad-free version has been installed.”
I’ve paid for the ad-free version but can’t find a way to transfer anywhere. If I have to reenter the whole list it wasn’t worth the purchase.

      • I had already purchased it when I wrote the first post. The only thing there on the Settings pages is a way to Toggle the Icon Badge on and off

      • Oh, that explains it. Jump back over the the ad supported version, there should now be a transfer button, below the purchase button. Sorry about that. Let me know if that doesn’t work.

  5. I found it now, Thank you. But I had checked there before I posted also. The transfer button didn’t show up for a couple of hours,

    • Hmm, that’s odd. I will look into that. Thanks for letting me know and glad it worked for you. Don’t hesitate to ask anything else. Also glad you are enjoying the app, or I assume anyway. πŸ™‚ Feel free to leave a review at the App Store if you have any thoughts on the app.

      Thanks,
      Ben

  6. My pantry icon is showing I have three things I need but when I open it up, there are only two things in the list. I can’t see anyway to fix this. Also, two suggestions. A way to add “incidentals” to the list… Things that are not an everyday item but that are needed for this particular trip to the store without having to have it as a pantry item. I don’t like having to have two shopping lists all the time. And maybe make the category headers larger so it’s easier to see. Font it small and sometimes it hard to find an item when I’m needing to update pantry quantities etc.

    • Sorry to hear you are having issues with the badge icon. I haven’t had that happen. I will look into it. Just to confirm, there are two items that are showing as needed in your shopping list, but the icon shows three? I will dig into to that to try to figure out what’s up.

Also regarding your suggestions, these sound like great ideas.

Thanks for the feedback and I will look into the badge icon issue.

      Thanks,
      Ben

  7. I’m loving the app!
I’m just wondering if there is any possibility of adding the ability to have different lists for different areas of our homes (aka pantry, freezer, fridge) in a future update? Thanks!

    • Glad to hear you are enjoying the app. I do actually have that feature on my list of things to add. Been busy recently with a newborn, so have had no chance to work on it recently. Hopefully I will get a chance to get back to it. Also out of curiosity, are you using the paid or the free version?

      • I am using the paid version. I think I was the 1st person to leave a review (Darke Calamari). I emailed you way back about the app crashing when I tried to add stores or something like that? The fix was to turn on location services. Still using the app to this day πŸ™‚

  8. Hello, I recently upgraded to an iPhone 6 and when I tried adding items with the search bar or searching for existing items I discovered a bug 😦
The top line is sometimes too high, and hidden behind the “All – Product -Aisle” buttons. I say sometimes, because when I first open the app, things work fine, but after working in the app for a while it starts happening. (I hope that makes sense)

    • This does make sense. At least I think so anyway. πŸ™‚ do you have the latest version from the App Store? This truly sounds like a bug that I fixed about a month ago. Let me know if you do have the latest version and are still seeing the bug.

    • Michael,

Great to here that you are loving the app. Do you mean that you cannot install the app on your iPhone, or that you can’t transfer all of the data in the app over to the iPad? If you mean you can’t transfer the data, yes unfortunately there is no way at this time to do that. Let me know of you have any other questions or if I can help with anything else.

      Ben
